2-3 Defense

[A Coach Reggie Production, 2005]

The 5 is in the middle and is the big smiley, the 4 and 3 are on the blocks, and the 1 and 2 are on the elbows. The best decision would be to put the quickest on the elbows and the best at boxing out on the bottom. Height often also factors in, but everyone needs to be good at boxing out and rebounding, regardless of size.

The smileys with the arms are on offense, the others are on defense:

The two at the top, near the elbows, must go out to the ball when it's on the 3-point line and foul line extended. The girls from the blocks must go out to the ball when it's in the corner. After the first few minutes of the game, it should be obvious who is a 3-point shooter and who is not. Use that knowledge to decide when to go out and when to protect inside. Whenever the ball moves, everyone must shift.
