Basketball Tips - #4

Passing is always the first option to move the ball up the court.

If the person you are passing to is running/sprinting, always pass ahead of her (somewhere between where she is and her destination).

Put your hands where you want to catch the pass.

While playing the guard position on offense, always catch the ball ready to shoot. It differs in the post when preparing for a post move.

”Fake a pass to make a pass.”

 Step to the pass.

Try not to pass over the defense, if the defender is right up and on you, step to the side and pass around her body. Or, whip the pass past the defense's ear, above the shoulder. He/She will not be able to get his/her arm up in time to deflect the pass and no one wants to get hit in the face with the ball.

Remember, a bounce pass takes longer than a chest pass.
